The Hawai‘i Youth Poet Laureate Fellowship is a program of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in partnership with Urban Word. This fellowship will build youths’ skills in literary excellence, civic engagement, and social impact. During the fellowship, students, ages 10-19 will apply to become the Youth Poet Laureate of Hawai‘i! If you are interested in joining us this year, please fill out this interest form.

Competition Opens

FEB 26-MAR 1

Workshops in Schools 

1-2 MACC Poets lead 45-90 minute writing workshops for ages 10-18 (full or half day, up to five days per school) no cost

  • Space open for individual students and teachers + groups to sign up. WEEK FILLED

MAR 3

Saturday Workshop (Online + In Person @ MACC) 10am-11:30am
