Performances for Students

MACC Education is continuing to offer FREE virtual mini-performances for students in 21-22. Last year we launched our Motivational Mele which showcased local musical talent. This year we are proud to continue a similar theme of promoting culture with our “Motivational Moments“. These will also consist of short videos created by local artists to share their creative work and motivational messages for Maui’s keiki during this time of virtual learning. The complete line up and schedule of videos will be posted soon!

To kick off the Performances for Students, we have a wonderful opportunity to offer just in time for Día de Muertos!

Sugar Skull

Specifically created for the virtual stage, SUGAR SKULL! A Virtual Día de Muertos Adventure is a captivating theatrical experience for the times that celebrates Day of the Dead, a traditional holiday that transcends borders. Join Sugar Skull, a charismatic candy skeleton, as he follows the music towards the ultimate party! He is spurred on by the tricky Chaneques, who desperately want him to be the centerpiece on their ofrenda. Along the path, Sugar Skull meets many colorful characters who teach him how Day of the Dead is much more than a party – it is a celebration of life!

Running length: 30 minutes.

Age recommendation: Pre-K to 4th grade

Performance window: October 25- Nov 7, 2021.
